Tag Team Career

Attache's tag team carrer in GLOW was diverse, she partnered a range of GLOW's girls including Corporal Kelly, Palestina and Angel. She also appeared in triple tag matches with Hollywood and Vine, a much loved GLOW tag team.

Initially she was paired with Kelly. But this was a too uneven team for my tastes, with Attache shown as too much the junior partner, frequently having to be bailed out by her more powerful partner. Despite this they had some good matches, espsecially a battle with Amercana/Tammy Jones. A more natural team was her wild team-up with Palestina...these two were vicious soulmates, were booked as equals, and their matches were a lot of fun, check out their match with the Southern Belles for example. Angel was Attache's partner in late season 2, but the partnership never sparked, and produced no stand out matches.

Attache made a fun partner for Hollywood and Vine, and seemed to be the leader in their matches together, Attache revelled in this lead role, and they had some action packed matches together, most notably a chaotic street fight.

Attache made an excellent tag wrestler, conspiring with her tag partners to create maximum trouble for the Goodd Girls. There was no evident Tag title in GLOW, or else Attache would have made a worthy tag champion.

Attache and Susie Spirit

The third great feud of Attache's time in GLOW was with beautiful sweet at apple pie cheerleader, Susie Spirit...

They had some great matches, for example, the Open Season match, where both girl wrestled with their arms in a sling was inventive and fun, and had a spectacular finish when Susie executed her flying crossbody to pin Attache outside the ring.

Their season two encounter was short, but action packed, with Susie's crossbody again besting Attache.

The highlight of their feud for me was their arm wrestling matche sin the GLOW games, Attache beat Little Fiji easily but then was lured into challenging Susie Spirit, Susie took her on left handed. In a thriller of a contest Susie beat Attache, which ulitimately swung the enitre GLOW games the good girls way.

Again, it was the contrast between the sugary sweet Susie and the spit-in-your-face Attache that made the feud special.

Attache and California Doll

There was a marked contrast between dizzy, leggy blonde Doll and feisty little Attache. As with Tina Ferrari, Attache was desperate to notch a victory over the doll. Partly from the sheer contrast in style and look, these two made a great feuding pair.

Though not reaching the technical heights of the Tina Ferrari feud, these two had some fine matches down the years, perhaps the best being their season one singles encounter, which is among Attache's best singles matches.

In a season 2 street fight Attache's team did post a victory over California Doll's team, so at least some justice was done!

Attache and Tina Ferrari

Attache's most frequent nemesis was Tina Ferrari, the one time GLOW champion. In numerous singles and tag enocunters Attache struggled to get the better of Tina, who would later become 3-time WWE Womens champion under the name Ivory.

Best remebered is their brutal submission match, a very long match by long standards and an excellent wrestling match. Attache showed all kinds of guts int his match surviving pretty much every submisiion hold in the book, before ultimately tapping out.

The two also wrestled for the GLOW crown in another solid match, again Attache came up short, but not before taking Tina to the limit.

These two were among GLOW's best workers, and any time they stepped in the ring, you knew the action would pick up a notch.

Why Attache?

Ok, so now we know why GLOW...but why Attache? At least at first, Attache didn't really stand out from the crowd in GLOW, she was cast as the tag team partner/sidekick of Corporal Kelly, a dominating heel. Only as that partnership faded, did Attache, the 'mean marine' come into her own. What made her so cool? First, she threw herself into the role, became every inch the mean marine when she walked to the ring. She also had a high degree of natural athleticism which meant she adapted to Pro Wrestling more instinctively than some of her peers.
Attache had a unique look, contstantly clad in camouflage outfits of various types, her hair cropped short, she was among the most attractive women on the GLOW roster, with an appeal all her own. Despite losing far more often than winning, she staged some classic matches with the likes of Tina Ferrari, Spanish Red and Susie Spirit. All of which I hope to look at in my detail in future. As a complete package then, Attache is my all-time fave wrestler, tough, funny, sexy, and very very cool.

Why GLOW?

GLOW, Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, even by Pro Wrestling's standards, was a strange show...a mixture of grappling, iffy comedy, and vivid color, it quickly became a cult favorite. Featuring a varied and beautiful roster of wrestlers, even today GLOW has a loyal fan base. The beauty of GLOW was the diversity of the women themselves...today's divas are too often from a narrow range of looks and characters...the GLOW girls though came in all shapes and sizes, and there was really someone to root for, whatever your tastes were.

GLOW focused on larger than life, almost comic book style gimmicks for its beautiful cast, and the girls relished their roles. For all these reasons and more, fans like me still enthuse about GLOW today.

Attache and GLOW...

This new Blog is intended as a companion site to my Attaché/GLOW Wrestling Yahoo group...once I settle in here I hope to post my thoughts on GLOW, and my all-time fave wrestler, Attaché.
